Review 'the war of two queens by jennifer l armentrout

From the desperation of golden crowns…

Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

And born of mortal flesh…

Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.

A great primal power rises…

Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.

As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

Review:

Note: theres allot of strong dislike going around, and thats putting it lightly. Allot of it comes from people that havent  even read the book, disliked the other books and are now 'surprised' they didn't like this one either and/or saw some half truths or lies and tr*shed the book because of it. It's totally oke to not like the book, to be disappointed, to dnf the series and state why in a respectful way, many have. Its not oke to trash the book, actively try and tank it, try to destroy the authors career over it, send hateful messages to the author, comment n*sty comments one after the other in the authors group, have your friends give 1 star reviews, make gleeful videos about the h*te the book is getting, going after people that did enjoy it.

Read the book and judge it for yourself, allot of the 'spoilers' sound allot worse out of context (and some arent even true).  The way people are acting is disgusting and allot of them should be ashamed of how they are behaving, how they are treating human beings over a piece of fiction.

Again this isn't directed at people that didn't like it and stated so respectfully but at those I mentioned above

Review:

This will be a spoiler free review, there will be no information on the joining nor confirmation on whether or not it will happen

Also, please for the love of g*d read A shadow in the embers (flesh and fire #1) before this one. Theres a reason the series got published in a certain order and knowing certain information will help.

I loved this book! If you love a plot driven fantasy story with romance then you'll probably love this book. The others are more character driven romance fantasy, and while I do prefer that, i loved this one too.

Watching Poppy stand on her own two feet, grow and interact with everyone was a great thing to watch.

I must admit, while I did like Kieran in the other books ive really fallen for him in this one. He is such a loyal friend and just a great guy.

There where some other characters introduced in this book, some you'll recognize from A shadow in the embers, and I loved that. He is such a great character.

Some of the plot twist I saw coming, or expected but some I definitely did not. I cannot wait for the next books. It will be epic

While I did love it, certain things got a bit repetitive for me. It didn't help that I've been in a reading slump, evidently because it never takes me this long to read a jla book. I loved Poppys growth and development and loved the snarky side of Casteel, his strength and love and even his horniness hahaha, I mean come on the man has some serious s*x appeal but everything about him became a bit too much about Poppy. He almost felt more like a second character, there to support poppy (which isnt a bad thing) than also a main character. I still very much love him, don't get me wrong. There just are some thing I hope will change  a little bit, maybe not change but grow, in the next book.

I would have loved to see him act more like they are equals, not in power as poppy is stronger (which i love) but as partners and rulers. Not that he doesn't see her as his equal but I don't know it felt like he forgot he is a king and that he is his own person too. Don't get me wrong I love how devoted he is to Poppy, and she to him. Anyways hopefully they will continue to grow as individuals and as a strong couple.

What is this book about:

This books takes off right where the crown of gilded bones ended. Its in dual pov so we see whats going on with poppy and cas, and what they are thinking in certain situations.

Can't really say more without spoiling things.

What did I like/love:

I love how every thing came together. How things that where laid down in the first book changed or now made sense. The smallest things could come back.

We learn more and more about how things came to be as they are and I can't wait to see how they turn out.

What did I dislike/hate:

Nothing I hated

Rating:

5 stars
