Quintessentially Q by Pepper Winters

Quintessentially Q (Monsters in the Dark, #2) “All my life, I battled with the knowledge I was twisted… fucked up to want something so deliciously dark—wrong on so many levels. But then slave fifty-eight entered my world. Hissing, fighting, with a core of iron, she showed me an existence where two wrongs make a right."

Tess is Q’s completely. Q is Tess’s irrevocably. But now, they must learn the boundaries of their unconventional relationship, while Tess seeks vengeance on the men who sold her. Q made a blood-oath to deliver their corpses at Tess’s feet, and that’s just what he’ll do.

He may be a monster, but he’s Tess’s monster

Review

Omg the suspense in the book was killing me. The things they did to tess were just horrible. They were extremely horrible. My heart wept for her.

And poor Q, he went threw hell before he found her. The things he did  for her, the things he did so he could find her. Only to find a shell of the women he loved. And he almost, almost gave up on her. As she did on herself and on there relationship. Omg the things he did so he could have her back were heart wrenching. The things she did to him. Thank the gods, that helped her pull threw. They have a really weird sexual relationship. The need and passion Q has to hurt Tess, and the Need tess has to get hurt, I don't think I can fully understand or want but it works for them. I'm glad they found a balance so they can create a healthy relationship. I can't wait till the final installment of this series. I need for these two to have an happy ending.
I really like the side characters in this serries to. They don't have really big roles, but on the other hand they have. I liked them, they were important without taking over the story.
I liked fredrick. He really reasoned with the both of them and he tried talking some sense into them and thank the gods it worked.
I really hope Q can totally open up to Tess in the last book and visa versa. I really hope they have an happy ending.
I really liked the dual point of view. It gave a good look on the situation from both sides. And you could really see into Q head.

Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters

Tears of Tess (Monsters in the Dark, #1) A New Adult Dark Contemporary Romance, not suitable for people sensitive to grief, slavery, and nonconsensual sex. A story about finding love in the strangest of places, a will of iron that grows from necessity, and forgiveness that may not be enough.

Can Brax find Tess before she’s broken and ruined, or will Tess’s new owner change her life forever?

Review

The summary of this book really intrigued me. I have read Captive in the Dark so I have read a dark contemporary book before. This book isn't as dark as Captive in the Dark. But it was dark and it was an mindfuck . I really questioned Q actions. He said he didn't want to hurt Tess but he did anyway. He said he didn't want to be her master, or doesn't want Tess calling him master but he wants tess to obey his every word. So that was a bit confusing for me.  After I read this I was like what do you want Q danm it.

This book really kept me on the tip of my chair the whole time. There were some really messed up stuff in this book that gave me chills all over my body.  Thank god nobody in my family saw that or they might question my sanity. Other than it was messed up, some of the stuff was really hot.  I'm not into the BDSM and stuff like that but  I can see why other people like it, to some content.  I seriously wouldn't want to get wiped or gagged or something like that. Or be put on display, hanging on the ceiling in a skimpy dress for dirty men to see.

Tess really has it rough. Her parents always told her she was unwanted, that she was never good enough. That all they cared for was her older brother. She has a loving and caring boyfriend Brax.  He is everything for her.  Except he only likes plain old vanilla sex. Tess wants more kinky sex and Brax doesn't want to. Tess got more than she bargained for.

She and brax were going on a surprise holiday to Mexico. She and Brax stopped for drinks in  a bar. Tess really has a bad feeling about this and she was right. The result. She was kidnapped, drugged, humiliated, raped, and sold as a slave.
Q, her new found master, isn't what Tess expected of him. He is an handsome, and rich man with blond hair. He is dominating, that's for sure but he doesn't seen keen on hurting her, To much that is. He is rather turned on by her stubborn and fighting nature. Tess is far from the broken slaves he has had in the past. But besides his dominating nature, there is more than meets the eye.

In the beginning I didn't like Q. At least I tried to, there was something about him. And by the end of the book I loved him. What a noble thing to do. I can't wait to read more.

I can't wait to meet Pepper in Edinburgh. I'm happy that there is more books with Q and Tess. I loved to see how there story develops. I wouldn't have mind it this was just one book but of course I won't say no to a series.

Bad for you By Abbi Glines

Innocence was never meant for the addictive…
Bad for You (Sea Breeze, #7)
Addiction was something Krit Corbin accepted as part of his nature a long time ago. He decided to embrace it and flip his finger at the rules. Women had always been the number one thing on his list of addictions. He couldn’t get enough. Being the lead singer in a rock band had only made access to his favorite addiction that much easier.Being alone was the only thing Blythe Denton understood. The small town minister’s family that raised her hadn’t accepted her as their own. The minister’s wife had always made sure Blythe understood just how unworthy she was of love. When Blythe is sent away to college and given a chance to finally be free of living as an unwanted burden, she looks forward to having peace in her life. Being alone isn’t something that bothers her. She escapes reality in the stories she writes. However, the ridiculously sexy tattooed guy who keeps throwing parties in the apartment above hers is driving her crazy. For starters, he doesn’t treat her like she would expect a guy with a different woman always hanging on his arm to treat someone as uninteresting as her. She looks nothing like the gorgeous women she sees parading in and out of his apartment, but for some strange reason he keeps showing up at her door.During a party at his apartment, Krit’s new neighbor comes to the door with her long brown hair pulled up in a messy knot and a pair of glasses perched on her cute little nose. She wants him to turn down the music, but he convinces her to stay.

Review.

I'm not a big fan of the Seebreeze series. I like the rosemary beach serries much more. I only liked preston and Cage so for. The last few books were ok. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it either. So I was a little hesitant to reed it. But i'm glad I finally did. I Loved it.  I didn't feel much for krit in the previous book. I also didn't envision him, the way he was described in this book. I must say I like this version better that what I envisioned hahah. We totally got to see a whole other side to him.  A side where he is just a broken man that  can care a lot about someone. I really liked the way the relationship between Blythe and Kritt started. It was an nice development. It didn't start like a firecracker but it developed slowly. I liked how Kritt was trying to be a good friend for blythe. She really needed one. As for Blythe, I really feel for her. She had to deal with a lot off mental abuse. She was told for years and years that she was nothing, ugly, evil and she felt like nobody wanted her. It really hurt me to see her feel so little about herself and the way she thinks that everything is her fault. Maybe it hurt me because I saw pieces of myself in her.  I thought it was really great ability, that she can see the best in everybody and the way she lit up when people were nice to her. She deserves to be loved. She is a really selfless, insecure person.  She is a kind of person that you just want to take care off. Yes this story was a bit of the same old same old, handsome male aflpha and a shy bit broken female that the male just has to take care of. And of course the girl is the prettiest girl he has ever seen and everybody loves her and thinks she's beautiful but it didn't bother me. I liked this story. I would have like to get to know kritt's history a bit more. All I know is that he had a crappy childhood and that nobody was there for him but I would like to know more. What happened, what made him, him.

As she starts poking around in her past she begins to remember...and something sinister begins to surface.

Review5/5 stars.
It's yet an amazing new book from Jennifer Armentrout. She hasn't failed me yet. I really enjoyed this book. It has been a long time since I have read a thriller. A good one a least.  It was exciting and I didn't guess for the live of me what happened and who was behind it all. It was really good. I feel really sorry for Sammy, I has to be very difficult to not remember anything and then find out that you were a total bitch to everyone. And you and your bestfriends where the biggest bitches in the whole school. To find out you have a boyfriend who you just fight with all the time and are only with because of your parents. Because it's right, because your both from very wealthy parents. That you ditched the only childhood friend you ever had and don't know why. That you pushed the boy you really loved away but still remained jealous of everyone that comes near him. That on top of that you hear that your best friend is dead, killed and you where there but you don't know what happened. That people suspect you did it. That you feel like your losing your mind because you see your memories flash before your eyes sometimes because something triggers it. That your mind is so traumatized that it causes you to hallucinate.   Yes that is a lot of shit to deal with. And i'm really proud of Sammy because the way she handled all of it was amazing. She is an very strong person. I still don't know why she turned in such a bitch but i'm glad that she isn't now.  I really admire her.
Carson, where to begin on carson, he is an amazing caring person and incredible sexy.  He has an olive skin, he is muscular, tall, dark hair and blue eyes. Just drool worthy. He hasn't have it easy but he never let anything stop him. At least that's the impression I got from him.  He still cares, loves Sammy, even after she was the biggest bitch to him. Because, and I quote, she has had her moments, and those moment out shined everything else.
Scot, I really liked him. He turned out a pretty awesome brother for Sammy. I really liked him. I like how he forgave her and really stayed with her.  He is an awesome guy. I'm glad I pre-ordered this book and waited till I had it to read it. It was amazing. I read it in one sitting. I'm so glad that I  did. It's a good book to add to my collection.

Nearly Mended by Devon Ashley

Nearly Mended (Nearly, #2)Megan Whitaker desperately wants to forget what the Malone brothers have done to her over the past two years – the haunting images and sensations still plaguing her thoughts and dreams – but she can’t. Charles may be dead, but Zander isn’t. I’ll bring you back to me. She wants to believe she’s safe with Nick in their secluded new home, but it doesn’t keep her from looking over her shoulder, jumping over unexpected sounds, carrying a concealed weapon or even preparing for the worst. Because she fears the time is near.

Nick Ellis has seen a change in his long, lost love. Battered emotionally and physically, Megan spends her days at self-defense classes and researching things that’ll never allow her to let go of the past. And he feels guilty even wanting her to, because he knows that heathen will return, it’s only a matter of time. And when he does, Nick knows he will do everything possible to save her, even if it means taking another shot to the heart.

But for Megan, there is no escaping the world of sex trafficking, nor the band of men who continually aid one another to keep it thriving. And as her nightmarish world encroaches on reality, Megan soon realizes there are far worse evils to fear than the sadistic man who haunts her dreams.

REVIEW

That sums my feelings up just fine I think. It was an emotional rollercoster thats for sure. I thought Zander couldn't get any more fucked up but I was wrong. Boy I was so wrong. I thought I knew his limits but the guy just doesn't have any limits. Like omg, I just don't know what to say about that fucker. I just hate him and everything about him. I hate what he did to megan, what he did to her, what he exposed her to, what he keeps doing to her, I hate what he did to Nick, what he made him do, what he has done to him. I really just hate the guy so much.
And omg I have so much respect for megan. At some point I really feared for her mental well being. I was like omg this is starting to look like stockholm syndrome. I mean she could have fooled me if she kept it up any longer. I don't know if I could do what she did. To be ably to distance  yourself from yourself and let him do that. And let him keep doing it. And pretending to like it even tho your body can't help but like it but your brain hates it. But at some point your not sure anymore. I would have, I don't know probably be like this
I really love megan. She is just so strong and so amazing. Being able to go threw the stuff she went threw and being able to still feel like a person and being able to get stronger by that experience. And best of all still love nick and  open your heart to someone is just remarkable.

And nick, He is amazing. He loves megan so  so so much and he is willing to do anything for her.  The things he did do for her, because of her.  That's just wow. The things he was put threw and be able to still love megan and live after that it just amazing.

Some parts in this book where really disturbing and cringe worthy. I mean that guy Zander is disturbing and has major psychological problems but Friggs it just sick, a sick sick sick son of a bitch. What kind of doctor does that. No that kind of a human being does that. I hope he and Zander end up in prison and I hope they get raped every day for the rest of there miserable lives

That ending, omg that ending. When I finally hoped it was over for nick and megan something happened. Oke it did not happened directly to them but it might as well has been. I don't thing Megan has seen the last of friggs or zander. I really hope she doesn't have to suffer anymore.

Nearly Broken By Devon Ashley

Nearly Broken (Nearly, #1) We’d both gone missing at one point, but Claire had one thing I didn’t. Someone to notice. So why was I the one still here and she the one still gone?

Nineteen year old Megan Smith has spent the past year working in a small town diner in the middle of nowhere. Life is quiet, simple, safe. Then comes the news that her look-a-like has gone missing.

Claire.

Still damaged both physically and mentally, Megan's not looking to be noticed. Wherever she goes from here, it's a road she needs to take alone. But when Nickolas Ellis takes the job as the new nightshift cook, it scares her how easily her defenses crumble down, down, down for him. But there are secrets she can't bear to share with just anyone, unspeakable acts that continue to haunt, and when the similarities of Claire’s abduction couples with the fear of an unwanted visitor in town, the urge to run before it all happens again intensifies, threatening the only happiness Megan's ever found.

Review

wow this  book leaves my mind nearly broken. By readin the summary I wouldn't have thought this was going to happen. I thought this would be one of these simple love storys where a girl meets a boy and after dening the attraction  between them she caves in. And then something wil happen and they break up but work it out and they get back togheter and be happy.
But no thats not whats happening here. This is a story about a girl that was kidnapped, brainwashed, raped, torured metaly and had to burn herself out to get away. Littely she burned herself out of the house nearly melting her skin off. One of her captueres died that night but there is another one. Since then  she is on the run. Always keeping her head down and staying under the radar. She works in  a little restaurant and there she meets the handsome night cook and she starts to let him in her broken heart. I really felt her pain when she told nick about her past and told him in a wisper "I'm broken".
But this boy (nick) nows a secret about her past. It turns out he is her boyfriend, and the girl that left a poster for her missing sister, is actually her. It turns out that her caputers brainwashed her so bad that she can't remember anything anymore before she got captured. When things finally seems to get more normal again and she feels like she can heal and breath again. She gets captured again by the the brother of her first capture. While the first capture keeps her drugged while he rapes her, this one does not. He plays mental games with her, and she has to be willing
to have seks with him because if she don't he will hurt the other girl that he keeps and let her watch or make her do it. And when she still doesn't cave in, he threatens to sell her to people even worse than him. Not willing to be sold, she caves in at the last minute.  After three days she get rescued, before her taker escapes,he says to her "I wil bring you home again".
Seconds before he kidnapped her, he shot her boyfriend nick.
After being returned home she and nick try to get their relationship to back to where it was.

This was a very emotional story about megan (clair)and  nick .
I was very toched about the love nick has for her and how much he has done for and how much he is willing to do for her.
This is one of the few times when I didn't swoon over the main male character but just wanted him to be there for her. Oke I have to be honest he did have me swoon over him in the beginning but after I learned megans secret I kinda focesed on her. And that doens't happen to me often.
I still feel a little bit shocked about her secret. Shocked by the knowlage that this happens to many women in real live.
I realy hope there is a second book because I just want to know if she wil be oke and that she and nick will work it out. I just want to read more about there story and I hate that I am without internet right now so I cant look it up or beg for it.
This is definitly a story that lives in my mind now and I think that this story wil stay with me. And not to many sorys do.
I cant stop thinking about it,I really love megan and I want an nick for myself. I really really really want them to be happy and I want her to be save and I really really hope that her second capture zander dies a painfully dead.

Wanted by Kelly Eliot

Wanted (Wanted, #1) Verbally abused by her mother for years, 18 year old Ellie Johnson always believed she would never be loved or wanted by anyone. She focused all of her attention on her grades and getting into the University of Texas to start a new life away from her mother.

The last thing Ellie expected was to fall in love with Gunner Mathews, a starting linebacker for the University of Texas football team and not to mention, her brothers best friend.

Gunner only had two passions in life, football and his grandfather’s ranch, until he falls for his best friends little sister. He will stop at nothing to show Ellie how much he wants her, even if it means he has to move faster than she would like.
Gunner knows they are meant to be together forever, but Ellie keeps denying her feelings out of fear of being hurt again.

Every time he gets close to winning her love, something pushes her away again. Will Ellie ever be able to let go of the past and let him into her heart and will Gunner be patient enough to wait for her?

review

So this is the second book I read for Edinburgh. 2/72 read. I have a long way to go haha.
But what do I think about this book. I really liked the concept of the story. And I was excited to read it. There were some things that bothered me threw ought this book. There was little to no depth to the side characters. I wish I would knew some more about them but maybe that's the point so I will read the other books haha.

I liked the romance between Ellie and Gunner but I thought it started of quick and I'm not sure if  that's  possible. I mean they were almost like I love you from the second they saw each other.  But after that they took it slow and I liked that. They really grew towards each other. And I love that Gunner really waited for her and give her the time she needed.

I really liked ellie and I felt horrible to know what happened to her and what she went threw. And I can totally understand why she was so insecure and guarded.  And I'm happy she likes someone like gunner. They are perfect for each other.  What I also liked was that they weren't all good and happy. But they got into fights and stuff so that made it more real. I didn't like to see gunner hurt tho. Don't get me wrong but it made it feel more real.

I really loved Gunner. He was everything Ellie needed. He was handsome, patient, caring, loving, amazing and he's just a great guy. He really put Ellie first. The downside to that was that because of ellie's insecurities and past ( which aren't all her fault, I mean her mother destroyed her) he got hurt a view time.

I liked arie, Allie's best friend. She was really cheerfull and outgoing and she seems like an awesome best friend. I felt sorry for her that Jeff was such a jerk towards her all the time. When it was obvious that they liked each other.  I was so happy when they worked threw it. Arie is a really strong girl and I really like her. I want to read more about her and jeff. She deserves to be happy.

I liked Jeff most of the time. He was a really good brother to allie and he totally cares about her. But he was a real jerk to Arie. And he just kept hurting her. What also bothered me that we never got to know where he got his money from. Not really. I would have like some depth to the story about this.

I liked most of the story but some things just didn't add up. For example Ellie was hearing her mothers quote in her head about no one will ever love her. And it looked like she was about to have a mental break down. Because this made her insecure she pushed Gunner away without letting him explain. She got in an accident and after that she and gunner were totally fine and she never heard the voice again. And I was like wait what. How is this just fine, the f*ck happend. It felt a bit rushed for me.
I also didn't like some of Ellie's jealous behaviour. I understood it but at some point I was like, come on the guy proved that he loves you over and over again. Give him some benefit of the doubt.

I also heard some people complain about the grammar. I didn't see it nor did it bother me.

Over all I enjoyed this book. I loved gunner. I liked how there relationship turned out. I also love the way gunner helped Ellie push threw her fears and he was always there for her. She was lucky to find him and she makes him happy, so i'm good :D
Yes there were things that I didn't like but it didn't ruin the book for me so I will give it 3.5/ 4 stars. It wasn't amazing, it isn't my fav but I enjoyed it. And I want to read more about Arie and Jeff.

Review

I give this book 4 stars. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was very sweet and very romantic.  Liam was such a sweet guy, with such a big heart. My heart wept for him. He tried so hard for Amber and he would burn the world down for her if she asked.

She thought off him as a day time man whore, asshole and what not. But at night he was the guy she actually liked. But honestly I didn't think of him as an asshole. Maybe I skiped something but I didn't see it. He was a tease yes, He was a flirt, yes and he was a bit of a manwhore yes. But all those girls, at that high school, acted like they were 18 year old sex crazed girls. Danm those girls were horrible. Even ambers friend was like omg Jake is so hot, and Liam is even hotter. And she didn't fail to mention it every time she said something. At some point I thought yeah I got it they are hot, you want to sleep with them and stuff, I get it. There are more guys on that school, are you really telling me they are the only guys that are attractive.  I can't remember girls being like that when I was in high school. It was a bit to much in my opinion. I mean, this is a bit of a spoiler, liam announced he had a girl friend and that he really loves her and stuff, And what did the  girls in the school do. They make a bet with every girl in the school. Each girl that want to compete has to put 20 dollars in the pot and the first one who sleeps with liam gets the money. I thought that was horrible. I mean leave the guy alone. Liam was also horrified by the idea and so was I.

Amber and her brother Jake had a really really rough messed up childhood. I mean there father beat the crap out of Jake. And beat Amber repeatedly. He also molested her for years and when he thought he was old enough,he tried to rape her. So after Jake and Liam see amber almost getting raped by their father the kick him out and tell him if he ever got near them again they would kill him. Jake is really protective of amber.  So is liam but liam is more sweet about it.

After Liam saw amber cry in her bedroom one day, he went in there to console her and fall asleep there on accident. And he did so the other day, and the day after.  So after a while they sleep together. I thought it was really sweet and cute.  But I did thought it was a bit weird that liam can't sleep without amber. I can understand amber. Liam keeps the dreams away but I don't understand why liam can't sleep either. Maybe he so gotten used to having her around at night it feels weird if she isn't there.

I understood amber's reaction to other people touching her. And i'm glad that she decided to trust Liam but I do think she went very very fast with him considering her past. I mean she goes from not standing him touching her ass to sleeping with him within the week they started dating.

I didn't even realized it was a week until the writer told me. It felt like longer.

I'm really happy that liam stayed with her threw everything. Every girl deserves a liam. And i'm glad he and amber got, and stayed together.

Al tho some things were a bit fast, and a bit weird. And the book wasn't really plot prove.  It's not my favorite and some things weren't just right   but I still enjoyed this book
