Review: "Final Debt by Pepper Winters (Indebted #6)"

The Last Book in the New York TImes Bestselling Dark Romance Series. Where love tries to triumph and darkness continues to reign....

“I’m in love with her, but it might not be enough to stop her from becoming the latest victim of the Debt Inheritance. I know who I am now. I know what I must do. We will be together—I just hope it’s on Earth rather than in heaven.”

It all comes down to this.

Love versus life.

Debts versus death.

Who will win?

Review

* I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review*
This book is the perfect ending for this series. I loved it!

What is this book all about
This book started of right where the fourth debt ended. Nila and Jethro are fighting against time once again. Only Jethro doesn't know that time is running out way faster than he thought. Cut took Nila to Africa. To the place where everything started.
Nila is fighting to stay alive long enough and too prevent to other debts from being collected. Jethro has to race against to clock to save the woman he loves. Only when time seems to be their friend again, it stabs them in the back. Will Jethro be able to save his love and will Nila be able to survive that long? They're both doing whatever it takes to be together again

What do I love about this book
I love that this book grabs you by the hair and refuse to let you go. It really sucks you into the story and keeps you on your toes. It's so thrilling, horrifying, yet hot and sexy.
I love how Nila has changed in this series. She is a strong woman now. I also love the change in Jethro and how much he loves Nila.
I really really want to tell so much about this story but I can't because I don't want to spoil anything for you guy. You really just have to read it and experience this book for yourselves. I mean I don't really have to sell it to you if you've read the other books in this series, you must read this one!

Review "Beautiful Oblivion by Jamie McGuire (The Maddox Brothers #1)"

Fiercely independent Camille "Cami" Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn’t have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with a first weekend off in almost a year.

Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.

Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlor to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.

As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she’ll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever—even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart

Review
I'm not sure what I think of this book. I mean I liked it but at the beginning of the book I got the feeling like I was thrown into a world without an proper  set up. I had trouble figuring out who was who. Also I felt like this story didn't flow well between chapters. If that makes any sense. I also got the feeling like some things got left out or something. And the big secret that Cami ( the main female) was keeping for her boyfriend wasn't as big as the book made us believe. I mean Cami made it sound like it was such a big deal and I kept waiting to figure out what it was. And at  the end of the book when everyone knew, I was like "was that it" "I don't get it".

What is this book about
Well this book throws you in the world of the Maddox brothers.  The main female Cami works as a bartender in a bar whose name I don't remember. The books begings with her having a conversation with her boyfriend, T.J, who lives in California and stands her up again. After that she and her kind of rude friend go out and then the "relationship" between Trenton Maddox ( the Main Male ) started. So from that point on Trenton is pursuing Cami. They become friends, Cami makes a point of that every time they hang out. But she can't help her self falling in love with him, while also trying to stay true to her word to her boyfriend.

What did I like about this book
I liked that it was something different. I mean we don't get allot of books that start of with the main female already having a boyfriend and then start falling in love with someone else. I mean it happens in real live.
I like Trenton, he is a great guy, has some anger issues but still he seems like a fun guy.  I liked Cami, she was oke. She seemed like a strong and caring girl.
I just don't like that the story didn't really flow together. It seems jumpy sometimes and missing stuff.
I didn't understand the kind of change of character and lack of explanation there off in Cami's brothers.
Overall I had the feeling like I missed  a previous book or something that would have explained allot of things.

Cover Reveal of Untouchable Darkness by Rachel van Dyken

I'm really excited for this book :D I loved the first one and I can't wait to find out more about these characters. Especially Cassius since we don't know much about him, his personality and about what he is. So here is the cover and the BLURB

To love a Dark One is to invite death...

It is wrong to love her.
It is worse to want her.
It is sin to consume her.
I desire all three.

I've been given thirty days to prove my love to another immortal--as a human. Cursed to use nothing but the side of myself I've always despised to win her affection. I am Cassius, the King of the immortals, A Dark One.
And today I tasted fear for the first time.
How can I win her when my human emotions over take every ounce of logic I possess?
A darkness is brewing.
One I cannot stop as a human.
One that Stephanie, my loves visions, have shown, will be my end.
Thirty days ago I was King of the immortals.
Today I know fear.
Today I know how I will die.
By her hand.
The woman I love.

Intrigued? I for sure am. You can buy the book here on the official release day (29 December 2015)

Review "Tethered Bond by Emma Hart (Holly Woods Files #3)"

Detective Drake Nash: hot, alpha, bossy, and… mine.

Now, if someone could tell his ex that... I don’t care if the summer fayre is coming to Holly Woods and she’s on the planning committee. What I do care about is sugar-filled food, bright lights, late nights… and danger. The type that won’t come in the form of Nonna’s new cantankerous British parrot, Gio. (Please see the damage done to Mom’s new curtains.)

Unfortunately, when the danger comes, it comes in the form of something Holly Woods has never seen. The town is rocked to its core, and once again, I’m in danger. Only this time, it isn’t because of my clients—this time, I’m in danger because of who I am… Because of my heritage.

And despite the HWPD’s best efforts, the bodies keep on piling up.

Drake’s determined to protect me. I’m determined that I can do it myself.

Danger. Mystery. Darkness. Malice.

It’ll be a miracle if any of us make it out of this with guns unfired, cupcakes still frosted, and hearts intact…

Review
So this is the third book in the Holly Woods Files. Drake is still drake. He is still hot, very aplha male and still stuburn. And Noelle well she'll never change. She is still a very bad ass chick that isn't afraid to stand up for herself.

What is this book about
So there is another murder in holly woods but it isn't like anyother. These ones are very sadistic, yes I said ones, plural. Not only are Noelle and Drake having a relationship they also need to work together again. And we know how that turnes out. Those two both have dominant personality's.
And to make matters harder than they already are, Drakes ex still hasn't left town and it seems like she want Drake back.
So how is noelle going to deal with her still crazy grandmother, Drake and their new relationship, all the murders and Drake's ex? Well I'll tell you, it won't be boring

What did I like about this book
Well It pains me to say but this book isn't my favorite in this serie because I don't know it isn't as new anymore. That being said I still loved it. This book feels like an NCIS episode. It's very clever written and I didn't have a clue as to who did it.
I really enjoy seeing Noelle and Drake growing in their relationship. Especially seeing Noelle open up a bit more and tell us some of her secrets.
I still hate that Grandma with something fierce! The woman is so anoying, and she's only getting worse and worse. Seriously woman just stop it already! I mean you are so pushing that your future grand daughter in law wants to call off a wedding because she can't hande your shit!! And that parrot! I would have killed it, oke maybe not killed it but I would have gotter rid of it! Or not come by anymore untill that thing is gone!

Review "Raw by Belle Aurora"

Growing up the way I did, you’d think I’d be more screwed up than what I actually am.

Soon as I turned sixteen, I left that bump in the road I called home and took my chances on the street.

Best decision I ever made.

Now, at the age of twenty six, I’m educated, employed and damn good at my job.

My friends have become my family. Like me, they know what it’s like to grow up unloved.

But the saying is true.

The world makes way for those who know where they are going.

That’s me.

I know where I’m going and I’ll get there eventually. On my own terms and at my own pace.

But then there’s him.

I feel his eyes on me. I see him hiding in plain sight. He watches me.

He makes me feel.

It’s unconventional.

But it’s real.

I’m sure you’re wondering how a person falls in love with their stalker.

So am I.

This isn’t a story.

This is my life.

Review
This book, omg this book killed me. That's it i'm dead. That ending omg, it gave me a freaking heart attack! Seriously, I felt my heart drop and panick bubling. I never in my life saw that ending coming. And then another plot twist on the last page. I had to read that last chapter twice!  My brain really needed time to take that piece of information in.
I mean why, why would you do that to me! I just don't understand!!!! Whyy god damnit! Why isn't the second book abvailable, I need anwsers! These characters better be in it! Twitch (the main character) has some explaining to do!!! Why five years damnit!! move faster and make it right! My heart and head need fixing after this. I'm having a massive book hangover right now! aahhhhh! I just need to know, I want my kind of HEA not the kind of mabye HEA we got. People be warned, this book needed a warning banner saying " be warned, this book will rip your heart out"

What is this book about
Well this book is about Alexa aka Lexi. She works as a caseworker in Australia. Lexi didn't have a easy past but she made something of herself.  Lexi is being stalked but instead of being scared she feels safe. On night she gets attacked and almost raped. Her stalker saved her. After that she begin depheloping a kind of relationship with her stalker. Her stalker is named Twitch, atleast that what he calls himself. Twitch also had a very very rough past. He tried to make something of himself and he did. He is a self made millionaire but he didn't obtain all his money the legit way. Twitch has lots of secrets and many many problems.
Eventhough Lexi knows that Twitch might be very bad for her, she can't help wanting him. She feels a deep connection between them and she can't ignore. As they grow closer and closer, more secrets are revealed. Secrets that may cost Lexi and Twitch everything.

What did I love about this book
Well I liked that this is a bit of a controversial story. Like the characters say, Twitch isn't a hero but the villan in this story. And in some ways I agree with him but I do feel like he became the product of his past. He doesn't know anybeter. Not that that excuses his behavior but it creates more understanding. We find out more and more troughout the story, and I liked that. It kept you guessing for more.
I did feel like I was missing some things in the story. I often felt like " hu, how does she know that'  or " What happend, when whas that revealed, should I have read that somewere". Maybe it's thre writing style of the author or my habbit of reading to fast, skipping things, when I'm desperate to read more about the story.  I didn't bother me that much but I thought it was odd sometimes.
I also got confused sometimes by Twitch behavior. He could run hot and cold in seconds and the next page, again I felt like it missed something.
Overall I loved the story, it really kept you reading. And like I said before, that ending. It's not fair to do that to your readers!! So people be warned

Review "Last Breath by Jessica Clare & Jen Fredrick (Hitman #2)"

Regan

I never really knew what misery was until the day I was kidnapped and sold for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Two months later, I'm at a brothel in Rio when I meet Daniel Hays. He says he's here to save me, but can I trust him? All I know of him are his sarcastic retorts and his tendency to solve every dispute with his gun. He's also the only safe thing in my world, and I know it's wrong to fall in love with him, but I can't seem to help myself. He says he’ll protect me until his last breath but I don’t know if I should believe him or even if I can.

Daniel

For the last eighteen months, I’ve had one goal: to find my kidnapped sister. I’ve left the Army, turned paid hit man, and have befriended criminals all across the globe. In every brothel I raid or every human trafficking truck I stop, her face is the one I’m desperate to see. In Rio, I find Regan Porter, bruised but not broken and still sane despite her weeks in hell. I should leave her behind or send her home because the last thing either of us needs is to get involved. But with every passing minute, I find I can’t let her go.

Review
I think I like this book even more. The lead female, Regan, was a more stronger girl and Daniel, the lead male, a more funnier man. The were great together. And the aftermatch of what happend to Regan was very well written. I would have hate it if they just brushed it off and that Regan was problem free. The PTSD was very real. Also there was more unity between the writers in this book. I'd hardly noticed that it was written by two people this time.

What is this book all about
We've met Daniel and Regan in the first book, Last Hit. Daniel was a uhm companion/friend of nick and Regan was a friend and roommate of Daisy.
Regan was kidnapped and sold into the sex indusrty. Daniel was send by Nick to look for her. But she isn't the only one he is looking for. Daniel's siter was kidnapped when she was on holiday and has been missing ever since.
Eventhough Regan has been through allot, she wasn't as broken as the other girls might be. She still had some fight left in her.
After being saved by the handsome Daniel she does everything she can to stay with him. Regan has become really scared of being abandoned. That and being hunted down by a crazy amarican that just has to have her isn't helping.
Daniel doesn't want Regan to stay. She'll only slow him down while he's looking for his sister. But he can't deny the attraction he feels to the sassy blonde. After he finds out how badly mr. Freeze ( the crazy amarican) wants her, he can't just leave her alone.
They grow closer and closer together. And the attraction between them grows and grows but Regan is scared that her time in captivity broke her more than she cares to admit. That and it realyl ruind sex for her. Not that it was that great with her ' boyfriend' but still. Maybe Daniel can help her in more ways than one.

What did I like about this book
I really like Daniel. He's a really great, funny and sassy guy. He is very loyal to his family. I also like Regan. I didn't think that much of her in the first book but I really like her in this one. She is a really strong girl. The things she's been through are just terrible and as badly as this may sound , I loved the way the authors made her experience all those things after. Not that I wanted her to but it made it feel real.
I like seeing glimps of nick and daisy. It seems like their doing well.
Although I really like this book I'm not sure i've I'm going to read the next book soon.  Daniel's sister didn't really intrigue me but Vasily (the new Bratva head) does. So maybe I will.

Review "Last Hit by Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick (Hitman #1)"

Nikolai

I have been a contract killer since I was a boy. For years I savored the fear caused by my name, the trembling at the sight of my tattoos. The stars on my knees, the marks on my fingers, the dagger in my neck, all bespoke of danger. If you saw my eyes, it was the last vision you’d have. I have ever been the hunter, never the prey. With her, I am the mark and I am ready to lie down and let her capture me. Opening my small scarred heart to her brings out my enemies. I will carry out one last hit, but if they hurt her, I will bring the world down around their ears.

Daisy

I've been sheltered from the outside world all my life. Home-schooled and farm-raised, I’m so naive that my best friend calls me Pollyanna. I like to believe the best in people. Nikolai is part of this new life, and he’s terrifying to me. Not because his eyes are cold or my friend warns me away from him, but because he’s the only man that has ever seen the real me beneath the awkwardness. With him, my heart is at risk... and also, my life

Review
I really liked this book. It was a story about two people who were created by circumstances from their past. One was molded into a killer while the other was secluded from the world.

What is this book about.
This book is about Nicholas (Nick) and Daisy. Nick is an Ukrainian Hitman. He was part of a Russian Bravta but was kicked out when he was 15. Since than he was on his own. While on a assignment he sees Daisy. He is intrigued by her innocence and purity.
Daisy had a very very sheltered live. Ever since her mother got killed, her father is to afraid to leave the house. For Daisy that meant that she could barley leave the house, couldn't read the books she wanted, couldn't go to school, couldn't  use the internet or watch tv. After 21 years of living like that, daisy decides that she had enough. She leaves home to have a brand new start. She moves in with this Girl Reagan, and tries to make the best of it.
When she meets nick she is intrigued by the handsome mystery man. She is between wanting this man and feeling like something is off. She knows she shouldn't trust a man she just met, let him buy her stuff but she can´t help herself. She wants to be different than the timmed scared girl she was and be brave.

What did I like about this book
Well I have a weakness for `broken´characters. I couldn't help but feel for Nick and his past. Same goes for Daisy. I liked how they helped each other. I liked how awkward they both were and how they were both trying so hard with each other.
Why like and not love? Well I'm not that a big of a fan of insta love, the kind where on the fist page you hear things like ' I need to talk to her, I'm not worthy of her, I'm so blessed that she talked to me, etc. Also I could tell that this book was written by two people. Especially in the beginning. To much stuff was getting repeated but in the end it did help me remember what was going on.
So over all I really enjoyed this book. I wanted to find out what was going on and read on. It was a easy read and I want to read the other books.

Review "RIP by Rachel van Dyken"

Pretty things aren't meant to be broken.
But I broke her, and now we both have to pay the price.
I'm her nightmare.
I'm her savior.
And now that I have her signature on an ironclad contract, I own her body and soul.
She doesn't remember me.
She will.
It's inevitable.
Because as much as I know I need to stay away, for fear of unlocking the memories I helped her father bury--I can't.
She was the apple in the Garden, dangled in front of me, her core so tempting and sweet. A voice whispered. Just. One. Bite.
I bit.
I tasted.
I fell.
Welcome to the world of the Russian mafia, where death, is your only future.

Review
I finally managed to read RIP, and god did I love it. It had the same feeling the other mafia books had but slightly different. The build up in the story was very good. It made you not want to put the book down but keep on reading.

What is this book about.
This books is ab out Nicolai Balzik and Maya Petrof. Maya is the sister of Andy. Maya doesn't know that Andy was alive, well lived longer than a view years after birth. Maya is the daughter of a Russian gangster. She wants to get away from her family so badly but she can't seem to get away.
For her thesis for collage, Maya manages to get an interview with Nicolai. Nicolai is a very brilliant doctor, He graduated from Harvard when he was 15, won a Nobel price and is working on a medicine against STD's.
What Maya doesn't realize is that when Nicolai finally agreed to an interview, it wasn't an interview she was getting. It turned out her father sold her to him.  She now has to work for Nicolai for an entire year. She lives in an apartment that he owns, dress in the clothes that he bought her and do what he says. What she doesn't realize that her 'prison' isn't her prison at all, it's freedom, protection and safety. It just came in a way she didn't realize.
Nicolai will do anything to protect Maya, even from himself. If he gives in to temptation, it will mean the death of Maya.

What did I love about this book.
I love the thrill and the excitement. I wanted to know what was going to happen next. What the story would hold in the future.
I loved seeing the eagle elite characters throughout the story.  And danm did those characters bring some massive plot twists. I really didn't see them coming.
Some things I guessed early on, some things a bit later and some things not at all.
I really liked the chemistry Nicolai and Maya had. And ofcourse I love Maya, she is like Andy but the same time not at all. She is a great character and I hope we get to see more of her throughout the eagle elite series.

Review "Shame by Rachel van Dyken ( Ruin#3)"

Everything done in darkness will eventually be brought into the light. I ran, but all it did was keep me one step ahead of my past. I tried to start over; new name, new identity. But you can't change your soul. A fresh start at college was just what I needed. For a while, it worked. I was the party girl, the one who seemed confident, but it was a lie. When guys kissed me - I felt only pain. When they touched me - nothing but fear. Deep inside, every girl wants to be the beauty in the story, to find someone who will see you as their world. But the truth? I was the beast. And as much as I wanted redemption, I wasn't fool enough to think I'd ever get it.

Until he walked into my life. I wasn't prepared to fall for someone. My scars were too deep, the wounds too raw. But he offered me peace, he offered me security. I should have known it was just another lie - I should have known that falling in love with my professor was a bad idea. But I was powerless to stop myself from falling. And he was powerless to catch me. Because the darkness finally caught up to me, and as fate would have it, a cruel twist almost bled me dry. But I'm stronger than I knew. I'm stronger than you think. You think you know my story, but you don't - after all everyone has Shame in their lives - and I'm no longer afraid to show you mine.

Review
The books in this series keep getting better and better. I think I might even like this one best. It was a really thrilling story. I guessed some of the plot twists  but I didn't guessed them in the beginning but after some hints I did.

What is this book about
This book focuses on Lisa (or Mell). We get to find out more of her past. It was hinted in the previous two books that she isn't who she say's she is and that she went through allot. And boy when I say allot I mean allot.  Page by page we get to find out what happened to her and we really get to know her. Not the mask she's showing everybody.
Let's introduce a new character in this book. A new (temporary) professor, Tristan. Tristan is very very sexy and moody. He also isn't who he says he is. It turns out that he's the CEO of a multi-billion  dollar company and is living his live to the wishes of his father, or is he.  He isn't on campus to  take some time off being a CEO and just teach for a while. It also seems like he really dislikes Lisa but on the other hand really likes her. He want something from her. Something Lisa really don't want to talk about. After spending some time together Tristan finds out that Lisa isn't who/what he thought he was. He's starting to regret his original plan.  What happens when Lisa and Tristan grow closer and closer. What will happen when Tristans secret comes out. Will Lisa be able to trust him again or will it leave her more broken than she already was.

What did I love about this book
I loved the suspense, the thrill, the mystery. I loved getting to know the characters story.
I really like Lisa, she is such a great, strong girl. Her past is just horrible and the way she coped with that is just amazing.
And the chemistry between Tristan and Lisa was just sizzling.
I did figure out the plot but not so fast that it took away from the story.  I really couldn't put this book down. I had to find out what was going to happen next, if what I was thinking was right.
