CRUDE. ARROGANT. A**HOLE.
No doubt about it, Sebastian ‘Oz’ Osborne is the university’s most celebrated student athlete—and possibly the biggest douchebag. A walking, talking cliché, he has a filthy mouth, a fantastic body, and doesn’t give a sh*t about what you or anyone else thinks.
SMART. CLASSY. CONSERVATIVE.
Make no mistake, Jameson Clarke may be the university’s most diligent student—but she is no prude. Spending most of her time in the hallowed halls of the library, James is wary of pervs, jocks, and douchebags—and Oz Osborne is all three.
She’s smart, sarcastic—and not what he expected.
…EVERY DOUCHBAG HAS HIS WEAKNESS.
He wants to be friends.
He wants to spend time with her.
He wants to drive her crazy.
He wants…
Her.

Review:
I was contemplating whether or not I wanted to read this book. I really wanted to read the 3d one in this series but couldn't not begin at the beginning of the series. So I picked it up.
I struggled a little bit to get into the story, don't know why. There wasn't anything wrong with how the story started. It just took me a second to get sucked into the story.
While I didn't connect as much with the characters as I would have liked, I still found this a fun story. I wished their backgrounds where a bit more developed, we know barely nothing about Jameson's live before collage, what she is studying (must have missed it) and why (maybe I missed that too). We got a bit of background of Sebastian but I would have liked more detail.
While I thought Sebastian had a bit of an ego, and could be a bit of an ass at times, I did find him charming. He did make it clear what he wanted from Jameson.
I liked Jameson's sass and that she stood her ground but she was a bit clueless at times.
Overall I liked the story. It was a fun read.

Review "Soul in Darkness by Wendy Higgins"
People travel from afar to the small isle in the Aegean Sea hoping for a single glimpse of Princess Psyche. Their adoration for the mortal woman is so all-consuming that citizens begin to shower her with the very gifts and offerings they once left at the alter of Venus, goddess of love and beauty.
But gods are known for their jealousy.
Cupid, the god of love, takes pleasure in causing strife and mischief in the lives of humans. He uses love as a weapon, humoring in the weakness of people at the whims of their feelings. When his mother Venus approaches him about punishing the human girl who dares to steal her offerings and affections from the people, Cupid gladly accepts.
Psyche's punishment is to be given to a mysterious creature who only comes to her in the dark of night under the pact that she will never lay eyes on him. She is terrified of this stranger, who the oracle described as a serpent. Her mate, however, is masterful in his dealings with his bride. He takes his time, morphing her fears into different sensations completely.

Review:
I was really excited to read this book! I love Greek mythology so I couldn't wait to get started.
I ended up being a bit disappointing that it wasn't actually Greek Mythology. It was mostly Roman mythology with some Greek mythology mixed into it. It was a bit hard to keep track sometimes.
I found Psyche a bit naive, quite childlike and sometimes a bit slow? It fits the time period of the book so I can't fault her for that but I hoped it would change throughout the book and it didn't really.
I do know if it was me I'd be shot down in seconds, I wouldn't be able to bed the gods for forgiveness, and especially not do the things Psyche did to be forgiven for something she didn't even do. I'd be to petty and stubborn for that hahaa.
I never read anything about Cupid and Psyche, so I found it interesting to learn more about their story/myth.
What is this story about:
Like I said this is the story about Cupid and Psyche. Cupid is the roman god of love. Eros, in greek mythology.
Psyche is a human princess. She was born to a king and queen that where blessed by Venus (Roman goddess of love). She was born so beautifully that thats all people seem to see. Her beauty was legendary. people come to see her from all over the world. They worship her like they would the gods. But they seem to forget the god(dess) that made this all possible and that pisses them off.
When Psyche is off age she's told she would go to the highest tower and she would wait for her husband. If she didn't her parents and people would be punished heavily because they betrayed the gods. Her husband would be a winged serpent, a monster. She would not be able to see or touch him. Will Psyche be able to survive? Is what she was told true? She will have to decide whether or not she can trust her own instincts before it's to late, or will she continue to listen to that little voice in this is a trap, that she is being lied to.
What did I like about this book
I liked to learn about the cupid/psyche myth. I found it an interesting and nice story.
I really liked cupid. I found him interesting. I put two and two together in the beginning of the book and was baffled it took psyche that long. When he told her a specific name it should have be clear to Psyche hahah.
Anyhow I loved the beginning of the book. It was interesting. The third part was a bit much for me, in the way that I couldn't really connect with it as I wouldn't be able to beg or do whatever it took to be forgiven for something I didn't even do. I'm not religious so I can't connect with having faith in gods.
I wish that the author would have picked one mythology and stuck with it. It would have made it less confusing for me. I don't know what myths overlap or not but I found it a bit confusing.
Overall I enjoyed reading this series. It's a nice story and it's well written.

Review "Blood Type Series by K.A. Linde"
When a human ventures into the world of vampires—a decadent milieu of blood-bonds and betrayal—she discovers that not all is what it seems.
For Reyna Carpenter, giving up her body isn’t a choice. It’s survival.
In a civilization laid waste by poverty and desperation, Reyna accepts a high-paying position with the wealthy and hungry vampire elite. Her new job is as the live-in blood escort for the intimidating, demanding, and devilishly handsome Beckham Anderson. He’s everything she expected from a vampire, except for one thing—he won’t feed off her.
Reyna soon discovers that behind Beckham’s brooding, wicked façade lies a unique and complex man. And that, in a dark and divided world, she is more valuable than she ever would have believed.
For with each passing night, Reyna can’t shake the sensation that it’s Beckham who’s afraid of her.

I was pleasantly surprised when I read this book. I wasn't sure what to expect. I've read a book by K.A Linde before and sadly I hated that particular book, therefor I was a bit hesitant to read this one. But I'm glad I did because I really liked it.
What is this book about:
Well the world has gone to shit. The vampires stopped hiding and took over the world. The poor became even more poor, and even the medium incomes became poor. People have to work hard and receive little. Reyna is one of those people, she cant afford to go to school and she won't get hired because she doesn't have an education. So in order to help her brothers she decided to apply for a job, a job that doesn't require you to have an education. All it requires you to have is blood. You see the job Reyna is applying for is basically be a walking, talking, blood bag for a vampire. In Reyna's case she was selected for a new job, become a permanent blood bag for a vampire who's blood type matches with hers, Beckham.
You see vampires can drink anyone's blood but it turns them feral. When they drink for their specific blood type it gives them the ability to think rational again.
So Reyna agree's to become a live in at Beckhams.
It's not what Reyna expected. She didn't expect the vampire she have to work for to be so handsome, and she certainly didn't expect him to ignore her and not feed from her. Somethings aren't what they seem, is Beckham one of them or is he actually as cold as he appears to be.
What did I like about this book:
I liked the blood type concept. It's one I haven't heard before.
I liked Reyna but she was a bit weak at times. She repeated the same circle and was bordering at becoming pathetic at points. She would pin after beckham, he would show intrest in her, push her away, she would decide that she was done, but then the circle repeated it self. It became especially irritating, from beckams side as well, when it became clear that he has a girlfriend. That's not oke dude. Beckham has some choices to make. And Reyna needs to learn to stand her ground
Overall I'm very curious to see where the story will go.

Review:
I loved this book. There was still allot of back and forth going on between Beckham and Reyna but it was moving somewhere so it's was oke.
Beckham could still be really cruel with some of his actions. He could have handled things better. He could have handled Reyna better. I'm not sure why he does what he does at times. Is he unsure what he wants? Is he scared or is he really clueless about how his actions affected Reyna.
What is this book about:
This book stars of where the last one ended. Reyna was kidnapped and is being held a hostage by Backhams boss, William Harrington. It turned out that Reyna didn't have the same bloodtype as Beckham, no she has a very rare bloodtype. A bloodtype that happens to be the same as Harrington.
Harrington really has many screws loose in that head of his. He's really a massive creep.
The only thing that is helping Reyna to keep going is the thought that Beckham will come for her, that they will be reunited. After 50 something days that is harder to do everyday. It became even more harder when she see's Beckham has not only gotten back together with his on screen girlfriend but he has proposed to her.
When Reyna isn't sure how much more she can take she is being rescued by a rebel organisation Elle. Now Reyna is dead sett on making Harrington pay for all he has done to her and others.
Is there still a chance for Reyna and Beckham, a chance that what she saw wasn't the real truth or has Beckham really moved on from her....
What did I like about this book:
I liked that Reyna grew stronger, not that I wished her to be tortured as she was, but I do like that she isn't that naive anymore. That she is willing to fight and push towards.
I like her and Beckham together. Like I said there was still some back and forth going on that was really frustrating but anyone can see they where made for each other.
Be aware of that cliffhanger! It's a brutal one

I liked this book more than I expected to. The plot didn't blow my mind, it was a bit predictable but it was still enjoyable.
The writing was good, and I liked the characters. I do feel like the sex scenes could have been better. They didn't really do much for me. I personally like a bit more dirty talk and not call a penis a penis during sex. Sounds so clinical hahahah
Any how overall it was a sweet and easy read.

Release Blitz "The Son and his Hope by Pepper Winters"
The Son and His Hope, a sweeping standalone from New York Times Bestselling author Pepper Winters is live!
“Things you should know about me from the very beginning:
I was born to true love, witnessed the destruction it causes, and vowed never to let such agony happen to me. I am not a story-teller like my father. I am not a writer like my mother. I am just a son—their son.
I am happy being alone.
And that is all I ever want to be.”
JACOB
The day he was born, Jacob learned his hardest and longest lesson.
It wasn’t a lesson a boy should learn so young, but from his earliest memories he knew where happiness lives, so does tragedy. Where love exists, so does heartbreak. And where hope resides, so does sorrow.
That lesson carved him from the kid to the teen to the man.
And nothing and no one could change his mind.
HOPE
I first met him when he was fourteen at a movie premiere of all places. A movie based on his parent’s life.
He was stoic, strong, suspicious, and secretive.
I was only ten, but I felt something for him. A strange kind of sorrow that made me want to hug and heal him.
I was the daughter of the actor hired to play his father.
We shared similarities.
I recognised parts of him because they were parts of me.
But no matter how many times we met. No matter how many times I tried.
He stayed true to his vow to never fall.

Release Blitz "Kill Switch by Pepper Winters"
"I've done far worse than what I went to prison for.
She has no idea how bad this can get."
Kill Switch, an all-new standalone dark romantic suspense by Penelope Douglas is live!
WINTER
Sending him to prison was the worst thing I could’ve done. It didn’t matter that he did the crime or that I wished he was dead. Perhaps I thought I’d have time to disappear before he got out or he’d cool off in jail and be anything but the horror he was.
But I was wrong. Three years came and went too fast, and now he’s anything but calm. Prison only gave him time to plan.
And while I anticipated his vengeance, I didn’t expect this.
He doesn’t want to make me hurt. He wants to make everything hurt.
DAMON
First thing’s first. Get rid of her daddy. He told them I forced her. He told them his little girl was a victim, but I was a kid, too, and she wanted it just as much as I did.
Step two… Give her, her sister, and her mother nowhere to run and no fuel to escape. The Ashby women are alone now and desperate for a knight in shining armor.
But that’s not what’s coming.
No, it’s time I listened to my father and took control of my future. It’s time I showed them all—my family, her family, my friends—that I will never change and that I have no other ambition than to be the nightmare of their lives.
Starting with her.
She’ll be so scared, she won’t even be safe in her own head by the time I’m done with her. And the best part is I won’t have to break into her home to do it.
As the new man of the house I have all the keys.
Kill Switch is suitable for readers 18+. While it can be read as a stand-alone, all of the characters are developed
throughout the series. The first two books, Corrupt and Hideaway, are now available through Kindle Unlimited!

Review:
I am very thankful that I received a copy to read and review. To prepare myself fully I reread corrupt, and read hideaway to really catch up with everyone.
What is this book about:
This books is about Damon and Winter. As seen in the previous book, Hideaway, Damon is back
And he wants something, he wants to punish the person who led to his imprisonment a few years ago, Winter. He got her in the perfect position, a vulnerable one.
What happened, really happened that faitfull night. How did Damon and Winter get to where they are. And more importantly where will the future take them...
What did i like about it
I liked learning more about Damon. I wondered how Penelope was going to turn him around.
I feel sorry for what he had been through, it's a terrible thing. Not that it excuses his behaviour, not at all bit being in his head really puts it in his perspective.
There where some very very hot scenes in there. I was hoping to see more of that certain scene, and I expected it to happen near the end but it didn't. What we got was still hot but I wouldn't't have mind it at all to see those two get more involved, those of you who've read the book will know what i'm hinting at.
I found winter to be a interesting character. You don't see many characters with her uhm condition. She got really strong and it was great to see.
While this book didn't keep me on my toes as much as the first one did, I still liked it allot.
Can't wait to see Will's story.

Review "The Son and his Hope by Pepper Winters"
"Things you should know about me from the very beginning:
I was born to true love, witnessed the destruction it causes, and vowed never to let such agony happen to me. I am not a story-teller like my father. I am not a writer like my mother. I am just a son--their son.
I am happy being alone.
And that is all I ever want to be."
JACOB
The day he was born, Jacob learned his hardest and longest lesson.
It wasn't a lesson a boy should learn so young, but from his earliest memories he knew where happiness lives, so does tragedy. Where love exists, so does heartbreak. And where hope resides, so does sorrow.
That lesson carved him from the kid to the teen to the man.
And nothing and no one could change his mind.
HOPE
I first met him when he was fourteen at a movie premiere of all places. A movie based on his parent's life.
He was stoic, strong, suspicious, and secretive.
I was only ten, but I felt something for him. A strange kind of heartbreak that made me want to hug and heal him.
I was the daughter of the actor hired to play his father.
We shared similarities.
I recognised parts of him because they were parts of me.
But no matter how many times we met. No matter how many times I tried.
He stayed true to his vow to never fall.

Review
I was so scared to read this book. My heart still hasn't recovered, and probably never will, from being teared apart in the boy and his ribbon, and the girl and his ren. I picked it up and started tearing up and put it back down. Last night I decided I had to put on my big girl panties and get on with it. I cried so much. It was so difficult reading about ren again, his little notes, things he said. It broke my heart all over again.
Poor jacob,he never got over the death of his father. It left him petrified for love and so closed of for everyone.
Another great read by Pepper Winters.
What is this book about:
This book is about Della and Ren's son, Jackob. You don't have to read the first two books in the series but I do recommend it.
Jacob is struggling. He never got over the death of his father. He feels like love ends in pain no matter what so he does everything he can to avoid it.
Hope lost her mother at a young age. But unlike Jacob she hasn't shied away from love. She accepted that death is a part of live. She wants more than anything to be Jacobs friend and she won't take no for an answer.
Will she be able to save Jacob or will he remain lost for the rest of his live.
What did I like about this book
I love hope. She is a very strong and resilient girl. She saw that Jacob was worth fighting for and didn't gave up. No matter how hard Jacob pusher her. And Jacob pushed.
I can relate to jacob, i'm not as bad as him but I keep people away to avoid to get hurt.
He is his father sons through and through.

Review "Corrupt by Penelope Douglas"
Erika
I was told that dreams were our heart's desires. My nightmares, however, became my obsession.
His name is Michael Crist.
My boyfriend's older brother is like that scary movie that you peek through your hand to watch. He's handsome, strong, and completely terrifying. The star of his college's basketball team and now gone pro, he's more concerned with the dirt on his shoe than me.
But I noticed him.
I saw him. I heard him. The things that he did, and the deeds that he hid... For years, I bit my nails, unable to look away.
Now, I've graduated high school and moved on to college, but I haven't stopped watching Michael. He's bad, and the dirt I've seen isn't content to stay in my head anymore.
Because he's finally noticed me.
Michael
Her name is Erika Fane, but everyone calls her Rika.
My brother's girlfriend grew up hanging around my house and is always at our dinner table. She looks down when I enter a room and stills when I am close. I can always feel the fear rolling off of her, and while I haven't had her body, I know that I have her mind. That's all I really want anyway.
Until my brother leaves for the military, and I find Rika alone at college.
In my city.
Unprotected.
The opportunity is too good to be true, as well as the timing. Because you see, three years ago she put a few of my high school friends in prison, and now they're out.
We've waited. We've been patient. And now every last one of her nightmares will come true.

Review:
This book is so good! It really pushes the boundaries of what is acceptable. I can't believe the shit they got away with. They went to far a couple of ties. Way to far for a simple mistake that could have been resolved easily.
They, Will, Damon, Kai and Micheal, kept pushing ant pushing. It even made me feel uncomfortable, my heart kept pounding and I had trouble sitting still and focus on the story.
It provokes such strong emotions.
What is this book about
This book is about Erika, or Rika as she likes to be called. She is a rich girl, she has lived in a sheltered neighborhood her entire live. The only thing that wasn't save was her neighbors son, Micheal. Rika always noticed Micheal when he walked into a room, she couldn't help it. She has wanted him since forever but her never wanted or noticed her. Or so she thought.
One night, also known as devils night, it seemed that Micheal finally noticed her. He invited her along with his friends, Will, Kai and Damon, to pull some pranks on Halloween. They are known as the Horseman. They get away with almost everything. Nobody touches them. Until that night, when something went wrong.
Rika hasn't heard or barely seen the horsemen since then but now they are back. They are hellbent on revenge, on messing with her but why....
What did I like about this book:
I liked the thrill, and emotion this book provokes. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. Even though I read the book before, it didn't feel like it. I had trouble remembering and therefor predicting what was going to happen next
Some of the sex scenes where seriously hot. Who knew Rika had that in her and liked it so dirty.
Overall it was a great thrill of a read and I can't wait to read Kai's story next.

Accused of a crime she did not commit, Annabelle Miller has spent four years in an institution for the criminally insane. Demons track her every move, and their king will stop at nothing to have her. Zacharel is her only hope for survival, but is the brutal angel with a touch as hot as hell her salvation-or her ultimate damnation?

Review:
I had this book on my tbr for a while but I never got around to reading it, until now. It's the 4th pick for mine and Jessica's buddy read. It was looking forward to read this book and it didn't disappoint.
It started of really strong, and it stayed strong but it didn't get better. It stayed the same, I hope that makes sense.
What is this book about:
Annabelle's family was targeted by a demon one day and he killed her mother and father. She got the blame for it. The next couple of years she spend in a prison for the mentally insane.
There she got attacked by demons and she fought to keep herself save, but her being the only one who saw him, didn't help her case. She got drugged and abused almost everyday she lived there.
One day an angel called Zacharel was send to fight a demon hoard that was in that prison, there he found Annabelle. Every logical part of him said to leave her there. But he couldn't help but feeling drawn to her. Logic be damned, he saved Annabelle from that prison and kept her with him. That wasn't the end of it, the demons kept targeting her. And from the looks of it they weren't giving up any time soon.
Will Zacharel figure out who is targeting Annabelle and why, and would Annabelle stop asking questions and challenge him? After decades of not feeling anything, Annabelle makes him feel all kinds of things.
Will he be able to let her go after saving her from the demons or will he want to keep her forever...
What did I like about this book:
I liked the banter between Annabelle and Zacharel. I liked how she kept challenging him.
I liked that for a change, the guy was the inexperienced one. I liked seeing him experience things for the first time like kissing and sex.
Sometimes it was a bit hard to follow the story, to figure out what was going on. Not sure if that was because of me and not focusing well enough or the story itself.
Overall I enjoyed this book but it didn't blow me away. It was fun seeing some characters from the lords of the underworld series.

Review "Hidayway by Penelope Douglas"
BANKS
Buried in the shadows of the city, there's a hotel called The Pope. Ailing, empty, and dark, it sits abandoned and surrounded by a forgotten mystery.
But you think it's true, don't you, Kai Mori? The story about the hidden twelfth floor. The mystery of the dark guest who never checked in and never checks out. You think I can help you find that secret hideaway and get to him, don't you?
You and your friends can try to scare me. You can try to push me. Because even though I struggle to hide everything I feel when you look at me--and have ever since I was a girl--I think maybe what you seek is so much closer than you'll ever realize.
I will never betray him.
So sit tight.
On Devil's Night, the hunt will be coming to you.
KAI
You have no idea what I seek, Little One. You don't know what I had to become to survive three years in prison for a crime I would gladly commit again.
No one can know what I've turned into.
I want that hotel, I want to find him, and I want this over.
I want my life back.
But the more I'm around you, the more I realize this new me is exactly who I was meant to be.
So come on, kid. Don't chicken out. My house is on the hill. So many ways in, and good luck finding your way out.
I've seen your hideaway. Time to see mine.

Review:
I liked this book but not as much as I liked the first book. The thrill I felt while reading the first book was missing in this book. Well maybe not missing but it didn't grab me as much as it did in the first.
I was very curious to see what would happen with Kai. I really liked him in the first book. It was fun seeing the other characters again.
I also really wanted to know what the hell Damon was up to.
I liked banks but I also had trouble connecting with her at certain times. I don't know sometimes she rubbed me the wrong way.
I didn't really feel the chemistry between Banks and Kai if I'm honest. I like them together and I'm glad they are happy but there was something missing. Something to convince me that they really loved each other. I felt it from Kai's side but really missed in sometimes from Banks.
Overall I enjoyed reading this book.
What is this book about:
This book is about Kai. He is searching for what he really want in his live. He feels like his past mistakes are still hanging over his head no matter what he does.
And it doesn't help that Damon, old friend turned enemy is still out there and he made it clear there is unfinished business.
Banks didn't have it easy growing up. Her mom wasn't there for her, and her dad is a piece of shit. She had one person to rely on and he wasn't the most stable person either.
She and Kai have a history, but will they have a future?
What did I like about this book:
I still liked the suspense in the book. I liked seeing more from their past. What made them what they are. And I liked seeing certain events from book 1 in another point of view.
I'm very curious to see where Damons story is heading.
Rating:
4 I liked it stars.

Review "Miss Mechanic by Emma Hart"
Two mechanics. One rivalry.
She’ll prove she’s as good as she says she is.
He’ll prove her place isn’t under the hood.
It’s over it.
“Don’t let the bastards get you down.”
For twenty-six years, I lived by my daddy’s motto. Which is why “Mechanic Wanted” is all it takes for me to apply for the job at the garage we once owned.
And I meet the biggest bastard of them all.
Dexter Ryne. Hotter than Hell in July and a firm believer that my place is on reception, taking phone calls and looking pretty. Not getting dirty under the hood of a car.
Determined to prove each other wrong, we make a deal.
I have three weeks to prove my worth as a mechanic. If I don’t, I’m on telephone duty.
If I do, he’ll accept defeat and make my job permanent.
Now, all I have to do is fight my attraction to the cocky little… beep.
Problem is, an engine isn’t the only thing he knows how to make purr…

Favorite Quote: "You're always on my nerves, Dex. you're practically a medical condition at this point."
Review:
I really enjoyed this book. It's right in Emma Hart's ally. There's a ton of banter and sass in this book. It has a strong female and equally strong, hot, male.
Somethings in this book where a bit over the top, like Dexters family. I wouldn't like it if my family does what they do to Dexter but that's me.
At som point the constant fighting became a bit to much but luckily it changed a bit after that. There was still fighting and banter but it became more than that.
What is this book about:
This book is about Jamie and Dexter (or Dex), both of them are mechanics. Dex owns the auto shop that used to belong to Jamie's dad and where she used to work. Jamie is in need of a job and after some hesitation she decides to apply for the mechanic job at her fathers old shop. What she didn't realize is that she would come to hate the new owner. She negotiated her way into the job and now has to prove herself. She would do anything to prove the misogynistic ass that woman can be great mechanics to.
She didn't expect it to be so hard to not want him, to keep hating him. And while he believes that she is a good mechanic, he doens't want someone in his shop that challenges his every word, his every action with banter and sarcasm. He also doesn't want someone working for him that he wants as badly as he does Jamie.
Will Jamie be able to prove her worth and keep a job or will she walk away at the end of her deadline and lose it all.
What did I like about this book:
I liked the banter between the characters, but like I mentioned above it became a bit much at some point.
I really liked that Jamie and Dex have great chemistry, they can deny it all they want but it's there and they'd cave sooner or later.
I liked that Jamie held her own in a male dominated work field. It shows how strong and resilient she is.
Overall it's a great, funny read.
