When female wolf shifter Taryn Warner first encounters Trey Coleman, an alpha male wolf shifter with a dangerous reputation, she’s determined to resist his charms. After all, Trey—who was only fourteen when he defeated his own father in a duel, winning the right to be alpha of his pack—can’t have anything to offer the talented healer besides trouble, or so she thinks.
Taryn finds herself drawn in by Trey’s forceful demeanor and arctic-blue eyes, and she eventually agrees to enter an uneasy alliance with him. If the two succeed in convincing their respective packs that they’ve chosen each other as mates, Trey will win valuable political allies, while Taryn will escape an odious arranged mating.
But there are a lot of potential pitfalls to this plan—including the very real possibility that the wolf shifters, overwhelmed by their growing attraction to each other, will be unable to maintain the clear heads needed to pull off the deception.

Review:
This is my second time reading this book. I remember it being really hot and that I loved it. It was still hot, and I still liked it but I didn't love it as much as I recall doing the first time I read it.
I still really loved Taryn's sarcasm and wit. Her banter with Greta where hilarious.
I loved that she held her ground, that she didn't give in easily.
I really liked the relationship Taryn and Trey had. They compliment each other well. Trey doesn't need a pushover and Taryn didn't need a whimpy guy.
It's not often that I love side characters as much as I like the side characters in this book. It's a bit hard to keep track of who is who but I do really like them. They seem to have a great relationship with each other and I like the vibe they have.
What is this book about:
This book is about shifters, wolf shifters to be exact. Shifters are humans that share their soul/body with an animal. They can transform in said animal, in this case the animal they can become is a wolf.
The shifters often live in packs, there is strength in number after all. Especially in a world where humans aren't to fond of shifters.
As you have in any wolf pack you have and Alpha. The Alpha of the phoenix pack is Trey. Trey never wanted to get close to anyone, didn't want to be in a relationship. He likes the single life.
When he find Taryn, he needs something from her, and she needs something from him. So they make a deal. Taryn agree's to pretend to be Trey's "true" mate so he can form an alliance with her father. In return Taryn gets out of an arranged mating with a man she detests. Taryn and Trey expect to each go their own way after the end of their agreement. They didn't want to be so attracted to each other. Taryn never expected to become so comfortable in the Phoenix pack, she told herself she wouldn't do it. And Trey didn't expect to care for Taryn. Will both of them be able to overcome their issue or do their ways split like they agreed to?

Favorite Quote: “You know, I used to think you were snarling at me, but now I see that...it’s actually just your face.”
“Greta: At one point, you practically stalked poor Dante.
Jamie: Stalked? No, I just watched him. At night. From behind a bush. Using night-vision googles.”
“Acknowledge what fear actually is—it’s just your brain communicating to your body that it senses danger. Accept fear for what it is, and work with it. That’s when its power disappears.”
“I suppose you look a tiny bit better nowadays. You’d always been a fat child.” “I prefer the term ‘charitably shaped.’”
Review:
I was looking forward to this book. The synopsis sounded interesting. I really wanted to know more about Jamie.
I liked how Jamie decided that enough was enough. That she wanted to save some dignity and move on with her live.
Dante however didn't like that very much. It's a clear case of not knowing what you have until it's gone. He never thought he liked Jamie's crush on him, he was sure he didn't feel anything for her. But once she started treating him like anyone else, he felt cold. He felt annoyed, like something was missing.
What is this book about:
This book is about Dante, Beta wolf of the phoenix pack, and Jamie. Jamie is a new addition to the pack. Jamie and Dante knew each other from when Phoenix pack was still part of their old pack. She always had a huge crush on him and she didn't hide that to well.
Now they're in the same pack again, Jamie decided that she had enough of embarrassing herself. She is done pinning after someone that made it clear he has no intrest in her what so ever.
Dante was sure that Jamie would continue her flirty behavior thowards him, so when she doesn't, when she almost igores him and flits with other people he is baffled. He is trying to figure out what is going on.
The more Jamie is pulling away from Dante, the more he is sure that he doesn't want to let her go. Jamie is cursing Dante for his behavior, how can she possible get over the guy when he won't leave her alone.
Dante is sure he doesn't want a mate, that a mate can't deal with him job being number one in his live. And Jamie doesn't want to mate with anyone because she has a secret, a secret that could become dangerous to her mate, and she doesn't want that person to get hurt. Both of them can't help but notice the growing attraction between them, will their secrets and attitude keep them from each other or will they find a way?

Review:
I didn't expect to like nick that much. He really did a number on Shaya. Shaya thought she could run and hide from nick, that she could be happy and not get hurt again, but sadly she couldn't.
I wished that Nick showed her some appreciation or something before he forced her hand and made her run away. It's again a case of not appreciating what you have until it's gone.
Nick has allot of groveling to do to get back into Shaya's good graces.
One thing is sure, Suzanne really knows how to write her Alpha males. These guys don't know how to stop when they see something they want. It's a good thing thats she's great at writing strong, no bullshit kind of woman to put those alpha men back in their place.
What is this book about:
This book focuses on Shaya and Nick. Nick is the alpha male (pack leader) of another pack. When he and shaye met during a visit at his pack territory they knew they where true mates. Normally that would be cause of celebration. But not when the bond gets rejected, and that's exactly what Nick does. Not only just that one, but over and over again.
Enough is enough, Shaya can't take it anymore. She can't handle being rejected over and over again. So she ran. She hoped that she hid her tracks well enough to stay hidden. She didn't expect Nick to bother tracking her down but here he is.
Nick is hell bent on proving to Shaya that he isn't going to abandon her again. That he is over whatever held him back, that he does want her.
Shaya on the other hand is hell bend on doing the rejecting this time. She doens't know how many more times she can make it clear that she doesn't want him. That he ruined the chance he had. She isn't interested in his excuses. But that's proved harder than she thought it would be. Nick is relentless.
But even if she forgives him, there is still the issue of him being a Dominant wolf and she is submissive. Not that submissive and dominant wolfs cant be together but it's more complicated when the dominant isn't just dominant is also a Alpha, and submissive wolves aren't well respected as alpha females. Then again, Shaya isn't just any submisive wolf..
