Review "Just Breathe by Rachel Brookes"

For Savannah Rae, living life without her parents was unimaginable. But being blamed for her first love’s suicide? That destroyed every part of who she was.

Gone were the days of innocence, happiness, and dreams. Now her days simply meant attempting to survive. In her mind, her only means for that was replacing her grief with men, booze and the fast life. And for five years, it worked.

When an opportunity to leave the nightmares of her past in Australia opens up, she takes it. Los Angeles beckons - with hopes of late nights, new beginnings, and the promise of a string of endless men to distract her, she can’t wait to dive in.

One thing she didn’t count on was meeting her match.

In the eyes of outsiders, Tate Connors has it all; the ultimate LA bachelor who is content with his lifestyle of wild nights, women and one night stands. He's Mr. Unpredictable with looks that could destroy any woman with one glance.

The craziness of Los Angeles throws them into the chaotic path of each other. Savannah becomes the perfect game, and Tate becomes the ultimate prey. Lines are crossed, emotions are smashed, and the idea of who they truly are begins to be tangled.

However, one thing will become clear.

They are more alike than either one could ever have imagined.

Review
I really liked this book when I started reading this. I thought I would get a story with strong characters that are a bit broken inside but get to heal. But I hate to say it but I didn't really liked the book when I finished it.  I personally don't like it when the male character comes across very weak and whiny. I don't mind some weakness but this guy just I don't know how to explain it. I actually have a thing for broken characters especially when I get to see them heal and realize that they are worthy etc. But this guy, he was cocky, sassy and funny one moment, a giant asshole the next, and winy the next and then he would repeat himself.   The first time around this circle I din't mind it. I mean it happend's, the second time I thought oke, the guy has more problems than i thought but the third, forth, fifth and six time I thought dude just no. There is no progress. Don't keep doing the same thing over and over again. He keeps jumping to conclusions, is very very jealous/disrespectful of the main female's friend while she gave him no reason that something was going on, and told him this over and over again. When the girl gets mad, he pleads for forgiveness and tells her he's sorry but goes to do the same thing over again.  That's what I don't like. I understand that he went through some tough shit and that he needs to get over that but to repeat the same thing over and over and over again . And the girl keeps forgiving him, and everyone pushes her to forgive him because their great together. I got annoyed with it. If the character showed some progress in their healing and made some effort to change I wouldn't mind it. That would feel real for me and that I could forgive but if it where me and the guy keeps doing that to me over and over I would be done.
One other thing I don't personally like is the insta love thing. For me it went to fast from meeting each other, lusting after each other, kinda hating each other ( with crazy chemistry ofcourse so I didn't mind that) to loving each other and being nothing without each other and becoming a whiny mess.

I'll try to give a better description of a situation without spoiling to much. The main guy and main girl both have had hardship in their past that they are trying to get over. They get together and get in a relationship. H(hero,as in main guy) and h (heroine, as in main female) are out in a club. h male friend is there and they're just talking and dancing.  H is mad at h because of a misunderstanding (which shouldn't be a misunderstanding at all because they went through a similar situation a couple times before) and lets his old hookup slut hang all over him implying that they will or have hooked up again. H is accusing h at sleeping with her male friend (yet again) and is calling her a slut. He does this because when he called h, her male friend answered because h was in the shower. H assumed that they have slept together, while h told him many many many times that they are just friends  and that h was actually setting her friend up with another girl. h left a voicemail for H in which she explains whats going on, so that should clear things up right? But no, H still gets mads and jet again assumes thing because something similar happend to him in the past.  Anyway so H and h fight, h has enough an leaves. H realize he made  mistake and begs and begs her to come back and tries to explain why he thought that etc. h eventually forgives him and they get back together again. So if this happens ones you'll be like oke that can happen right.  But this happens allot.
Instead of voicing his insecurities and talking about is, H just assumes things and jumps to conclusions and (intentionally) hurts h and snaps at her. And she just keeps taking him back.

Again I understand why H has problems and that it's not easy for him but for god sake dude get help because this will get out of hand. It's not cool to keep hurting the person you love, that has problems of her own, because of you're insecurities. Think and talk before you react.

So sorry for my rant. Just remember I didn't like it because of personal preverences but that doesn't mean you won't. Please give this book a chance and find out for your self
