Review "Halfway to the Grave & One foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost"

Flirting with the Grave...
Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father - the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.
In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner - are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

Review:
I liked this book. But mostly I liked Bones. He carried the story for me. He was mysterious, hot and sassy. And lets not forget he's a total bad ass.
Cat was oke. I liked that she was strong and a fighter but she was a bit to cocky for someone that got her ass handed to her as often as she did. She was also very impulsive and didn't always listen or think things through. But that matches her age and her cocky attitude.

What is this book about:
This book is about Cat. She doesn't have it easy. Her mother hates her, hates what she is. And her father is non existence in her live. You see Cat is a half-vampire. She spends her nights hunting down and killing vampires.
One night she meets a vampire named Bones. He totally caught her of guard and took her. When she woke up she figured she could easily take him out but that wasn't the case.
Bones decides to train Cat so she can help him track down and kill other vampires. He's somewhat of a bounty hunter.
Cat doesn't want to like nor be attracted to Bones. She has been taught that all vampires are evil, and that should include Bones. Will she be able to resist him or will she allow herself to think that maybe not everything is as black and white as she thinks it is.
Things are starting to go down hill when Cat and Bones piss of a dangerous vampire and he's gunning for Cat and her family. Will she be able to save them?

What did I like about his book
Like I said above, I mostly liked Bones. He carried the story in my opinion. I liked the banter between Cat and Bones though. I do like her spark and sassy attitude. She doesn't roll over and just do what she's told and I like that. It's just that certain things could have been avoided if she stopped and thought her actions through for a change.

Be aware of that cliffhanger! Can't wait to read on and what happens to Bones and Cat.

You can run from the grave, but you can’t hide…

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She’s still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.

Being around Bones awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline rush of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head—wanted: dead or half-alive—means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard Cat tries to keep things professional between them, she’ll find that desire lasts forever…and Bones won’t let her get away again.

Favorite Quote: "Time has no dominion over love. Love is the one thing that transcends time."

Review:
I liked this book better than I did the first one. Bones is still awesome and so so swoon worthy. He is also loyal to a fault.
I could tell that Cat is older in this book. She's a bit more serious, and she got stronger. She was also a little bit more mature but still impulsive and fails to talk/thing things through.
I was really annoyed with Cat at the end of the book. It was again a thing that could have been easily avoided if she spoke up. I love that they are together again but the had to take a certain step to fix something Cat did.

What is this book about:
This book is set 4/5 years after the last book. Cat left Bones to save his live and joined a branch of military. The kind of branch that isn't something everyone knows that exist and deals with vampires. Kat is the leader of said team and she's good at it.
While Cat's trying to move on she hasn't been able to get over Bones. Bones hasn't gotten over Cat as well and the second he finds her, he isn't willing to let her run away again like she did all those years ago. He is hell bent on reminding her that she still loves him and that they work well together.
Danger still isn't over. There is a dangerous vampire that has taken a intrest in Kat. He wants her to be a part of his clan and he's willing to go through great lengths to get her. It doesn't help that said vampire is also the one that turned Bones.....

What did I like about this book:
I love Bones. He is just amazing. And the man really knows what he's doing in the bedroom. My god those scenes where steaming. Especially that one in Kat's bedroom, you know the one.
I liked that we saw a different side of Cat, that she finally stood up for herself and told her mom to stuff it.
I liked seeing more of the world that Jeaniene created. I loved some of the side characters. They really added to the story. I had a hard time remembering who was who though but near the end I got it.
Can't wait to see more about Kat and Bones and their friends.
