One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.
She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?
For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.
Review
Well they are a train wreck for sure. When I started reading this book I absolutely loved it. I hope it would be a funny, witty, sexy, steamy, light love story. It was, for the most of it. But it is everything but light. I like some drama in a book but danm it was allot in this one. Such over the top strong emotions. I thing I also ruined it a bit for by self by taking a view sneak peaks in the other books.
I don't say this often about a couple but Tristan and Danika are bad for each other as much as they are good for each other. Tristan has a bit of an addictive, a bit of a masochistic personality and Danika has a bit of a codependent personality. Danika is more in love with the idea of love together with the fear of being alone and not loved together. If that makes sense.
I loved the two of them in the beginning, They were such good friends and they were funny and light, and enjoyable to read about but the further I got in this book the less light and funny they became. It was more possessive and jealous and angry. They both have problems with dealing with there emotions and they express it in kind of extreme actions.
So I don't think I will read the rest of this series right now. I'm not in the mood for such drama but I will in the future. ( I do know how there relationship will end and I know some of the major things that will happen in the series and let me say it's messed up. But don't worry all will be well )
Like the summary say, dannika is attracted to bad boys and it's not good for her. It's not like the bad boys are bad for her. I've read about plenty bad boys that were perfectly able to have normal relationships. It the guys with major issues, well not even that, well that with here need for love that doesn't work for her. And considering the past she has had, I can understand where it comes from but I think she needs major therapy to learn how to deal with her emotions and not be codependant and need for a relationship.
Don't think that it's all danika's fault. Tristan has some issues as well but he blames it on anyone but himself. On top of that he doesn't know what to do with his emotions, and he definitely has some anger management issues.
The both have very loving personality, and I did see them in the beginning. That's what made me read one and love them but they have major problems underneath it and they just don't know how to deal with it correctly and healthy. There in a bit of a circle.
So enough about the bad stuff and let me tell you what made me love them in the beginning. What is this story all about
Danika is a sweet, caring, sassy, beautiful girl. She work's as a live in made and she does a good job. Danika doesn't have friends her own age and doesn't rarely let go. She is a student but I've never read about her going to school actually. I can't even tell you what she study's. She is also an amazing dancer.
Tristan is drop dead gorgeous with dark hair and tats everywhere. He is funny and seems care free. He really is a good cook and I thing he would be an amazing father someday. Tristan works as a club promoter and is the lead singer in a band.
They both are easy to love and to like.
From the first day they meet, they have a strong connection and there really good friends. There relationship began to be a bit toxic after they had sex together. But I have talked enough about that.
Well the story starts of when Danika meets Tristan. Tristan is in between residences and her boss has offered him a place to stay.
They become good friends and get along great. Of course there's some major attraction between the two off them but because they don't want to ruin there friendship they won't have sex. They kept that up, up until 1/4 or 1/2 part of the book.
There are also some really amazing supporting characters in this book.
This books is a series but I think you can also read this as a stand alone. In the beginning this book was a solid 5 starts but now i'm doubting between 3/4. I think I will go with 4 because I loved the beginning.
